RAD Solutions: CUSTOMISATION TOOLKIT
EFACS Enterprise ERP combines the power and stability of a standard off-the-shelf package with the important added benefit of a business system that can be tailored to meet the precise needs of the company. The Customisation Toolkit is a development tool that enables specific staff to customise functionality of core application software, without the need to develop and maintain complex source code. The Toolkit not only gives the ability to create new applications, but may also be used to enhance existing functionality within the EFACS Enterprise ERP business system.
Enabling seamless integration of system changes, the Customisation Toolkit can be used to add new functionality or to enhance existing functionality. The Toolkit has its own Integrated Development Environment, or IDE, that can simplify software generation. The IDE also provides a sophisticated object browser that allows perusal of the object system that EFACS Enterprise is built upon, and invoke those objects as part of the development process. Toolkit developments have the same look and feel as the main, vanilla EFACS Enterprise system.
Custom Columns
The Toolkit is a powerful system tool which allows forms, toolbars and grids to be tailored such that the core functionality of EFACS Enterprise can be extended without amendment or bespoke modification of existing applications. High-level screen building capabilities offer menu bars, pop up dialogue boxes, data entry screens and scrolling data with seamless configuration to the needs of the business. Standard database tables can be extended throughout the EFACS Enterprise system using a facility called “Custom Columns”. The underlying EFACS Enterprise database structure remains unchanged, ensuring that the integrity of the system is not compromised. Triggers are present throughout EFACS Enterprise applications and provide specific points from which the software may branch from its normal path to execute a customer development.
XML Integration
EFACS Enterprise is a comprehensive integrated business solution. However, sometimes it is also necessary to interface with other existing software systems. EFACS Enterprise uses the industry-standard XML structure for defining messages for its internal communication as a system. Many software developers are now adopting the XML standard for interfacing. EFACS Enterprise uses XML, not only for its own internal communication, but for interfacing to external applications as well.
